Boats at Santo Amaro Dock

Originally a dock supporting the industrial and warehouse activities of the area, the Santo Amaro Dock underwent a major redevelopment in the 1990s. Designed to meet the exponential growth of nautical tourism in the Lisbon metropolitan area, it accommodates both sailing and motor boats.

The old warehouses were transformed into restaurants and bars, becoming one of Lisbon’s main nightlife hubs.

Its U-shaped basin is well protected from the winds and currents of the Tagus’s main channel and has a capacity for approximately 178 recreational vessels.

Current Function: Primarily recreation and tourism. It is the base for many nautical charter companies (including Lisbon Sight Sailing) and a highly popular gastronomic center.
